"Avoid Using SWIFT AIR MECHANICAL / PERDUE HEATING AND COOLING If You Want the Job Done Right When Swift Air (also known as Perdue Heating and Cooling) installed my new air conditioner, they overcharged the system. This caused the unit to short cycle for several days straight (see video). They eventually returned to remove excess refrigerant, which resolved the immediate issue, but I have been concerned ever since about the wear and tear that may have caused on the system and how much it may have shortened its lifespan since it probably started and stopped thousands of times during that short timespan. During install they also remove all the trim from an access opening to my attic and never returned to repair it (see photo). Despite this, I continued using them because new units come with a service contract. That turned out to be a mistake. Several times during my service contact with them they have forgotten to come perform either my spring or fall maintenance. During this last spring maintenance visit, after I called to remind them to come out, they failed to reconnect a capacitor which resulted in blowing a fuse in the AC system and leaving me without air conditioning for several days. They also neglected to replace the caps on the refrigerant lines. (see photos) And now, even though I'm covered under both the Swift Air service plan and the Trane manufacturer warranty, I've been without AC for five days and counting while I wait for them to return to replace a failed Trane thermostat—something they’ve acknowledged is covered under warranty. To make matters worse, while Penny (who answers the phone) is kind and helpful, no one from their parts department has responded to either her follow-ups or mine. I still have no idea whether the part has even been ordered or when they plan to complete the repair. In short, if you want reliable service and a properly installed system without excess damage to your home, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. "Of all the companies you could hire, do not hire Perdue Heating and Cooling or Swift Air Mechanical. Hiring them was a big mistake. During their time in our home, we experienced theft and vandalism of our equipment. The owner failed to deliver a quality design or reliable equipment, leaving us with an uncomfortable and poorly functioning system. This company operates like a fly-by-night organization and cannot be trusted to handle professional HVAC work. We have entire systems shut off in our house this winter and the temperature continues to rise, the owner will lie to you to sell you a system. This company is built on profit before integrity, i'd hate to see someone make the same mistake I did, I trusted Alan Cox and he lied over and over. 1. Unprofessional 2. Untrustworthy 3. "My father has had a service contract with this company for many years. However when they last came out for a winter service, the service person did not wear any covering on his workbooks and left footprints all over Dad's carpet that was layed that week!. A manager came to the home after I called them and stated they would take care of it and stating their full responsibility for the ruined carpet. THEY hired a carpet cleaner who came out, but were unable to remove the footprints. Not only have they not paid the carpet cleaner - now 6 months overdue - but the general manager after agreeing to replace the carpet for the hallway, stopped answering and returning calls. I strongly recommend never using Perdue Heating based on this experience!"
